Exciting news!

Erasmus+ Accreditation

Rice College, as part of a consortium with Ennis CBS, Barefield NS and St Flannan’s College has been awarded Erasmus+ Accreditation for the first time in the school's history. Beginning in October 2025, Rice College will be involved in several targeted projects with Langenfeld, Germany, the twinned town with Ennis.

Representing the German Department in Rice College, Ms Power travelled to Langenfeld, Düsseldorf and Cologne recently with representatives from the other three local schools, to help build links between Rice College and our partner schools in Germany. This Erasmus+ project aims to develop sustainable friendships between Rice College and Langenfeld’s secondary schools, with travel to Germany for some of our Junior Cycle MFL students in April 2026 planned.

Objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme:

  1. Thinking Globally
  2. Language Learning
  3. Use of Digital World to Support Global Thinking
  4. Global Awareness.

We were catching up with some of our wonderful past pupils and were curious about what they had to say about their time here in Rice College in Ennis... well, take a listen!

Welcome back to another academic year in Rice College. I hope everyone has had a restful, safe summer, and you are now ready to return at the end of the month refreshed and energised. I would like to extend a special welcome to our new First Year students. I’m sure their time in our school will be a very enjoyable, positive experience for all.
