New opportunities for leadership are established at Rice College in the form of two positions for Student Presidents. Both Presidents were elected democratically and voted in by their peers, so they need to have a high profile and be a trustworthy person. This role requires the development of a number of key skills, including public-speaking, as they may have to address assemblies or events.
Leadership is an essential quality for a student president. The student body must trust them to be both capable and stand for their concerns. The Student President must also be able to lead a student council and able to take decisive action when required.
