Wellness

We know that the mental health and well-being of our students is critical to success in school and life.

At Rice College well-being is an integral part of our school day.

We strive to create a safe and supportive environment through building positive relationships between teachers and students.

We aim for a whole school approach to health. Mental health and well-being for staff and students is an important part of our school. Conversation in this area is promoted as much as possible.

Mental Health Awareness Week is being celebrated this year from 8th-12th October. There will be diverse displays and interactive opportunities for promoting positive mental health.

A noticeboard on the corridors communicates well-being indicators to all staff and students.

On foot of the school attaining the Amber Flag for School last year, all classroom doors carry an amber circle which tells students that the teacher in that classroom is someone they can speak to should they wish to do so.

Access to continual professional development is facilitated for school staff on the promotion of the mental health and well-being of students.
